First of all, thank you to everyone for the answers to prayer. We have traveled safely so far. We have no serious sicknesses yet. And the truck has been promised to be fixed for next Saturday when it is our transportation. Many times we can just see that God is in control. Once we were going to meet at church and both of the groups (not exactly sure were they were, but knew what direction they were heading) ran into each other, so they could walk together.
At this point we have had some good discussions with missionaries, have settled into our language families houses, and the most unexpected are developing some great relationships with the Guatemalans at a presbyterian church. I planned a meal with the women of the church. I worked on it as a possiblity for months, but it ended up being kind of last minute, it was pretty difficult to plan. But this dinner was a great time. That was Friday. Saturday we went to the same church for a service to honor and thank the fathers (well those of us who weren't scared by the afternoon rain :) Then We went on sunday AM again. This time the youth invited us to watch a movie and play soccer. I have heard that mathematics is the universal language (well I am a math teacher) But I really think soccer is the international language. We had a great time at an indoor court with lights.
Continuing this week we might go out to dinner with them and also Ben and Elizabeth are both going to do some cooking of italian food for the people of the church on Thursday. Please continue to keep these relationships in your prayers. We have appreciated them. We could also used prayer for 5.5 hours of language school a day. Everyone has their own teacher, so it is one on one and it is intense. Some people are not quite as motivated to learn Spanish, so pray for that too.
We appreciate you so much! Thank you for your support!
