One of our Adult Mission Hour speakers this year was Rev. Hunter Farrell, Director of the World Mission Unit for the Presbyterian Church (USA). Rev. Farrell served as a career missionary in the Congo and Peru. He currently oversees mission service and recruitment, including national and international calls, as well as other forms of direct mission involvement.

One of our Adult Bible Hour speakers this year was Dr. Edith M. Humphrey, a professor of New Testament from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Her research interests include rhetorical and literary studies, biblical theology, Eastern Orthodoxy, and current issues in the Church. She also has a passion for music, singing in the PTS choir and playing the oboe and the organ.

Upcoming Mission Opportunities - High School, Young Adult and Beyond

Here are two mission opportunities recently submitted:

Montreat Conference Center in North Carolina is looking for six young adults interested in spending 9 months living and working in an intentional Christian community, exploring who they are called to be and what that looks like in this world where God has placed us. A 28 year old Pakistani Christian man named Manus, who attended conference last week, is undergoing emergency surgery in Pittsburgh for a hole in his stomach. He is a Fulbright scholar who was visiting Muslim friends when he suddenly became very ill. Please pray for his healing and his witness to this Muslim couple.
