We want to notify the conference family that the Summer Service team
was stopped on the road and robbed Saturday morning. Everyone is fine and
that is the most important thing. Cell phones, cameras, rings, watches and backpacks (with journals) were stolen, but that was
all. David Clipson, their missionary host had considerably more
stolen. The team is returning (or returned) to the seminary and has notified the embassy. They will have a police escort if they are in that
area again.
The team has asked for us to give thanks for the Lord's protection and to pray for the men who committed this crime.
Blessings have also come from this event. Their relationships have grown stronger with each other and especially the Guatemalans they are working with. Many people demonstrated their care as a result of it.
