About The Web and Christ's Mission
My name is Andrew Dawson and here are 9 things you may or may not know about me that are pertinent to this blog and website:
- My goal with this blog is to educate and raise awareness about how Christ and His followers can use the web and this website as a tool while focusing on mission and missionaries.
- I started it in response to Dr. Scott Sunquist's presentation "Presbyterian Mission in a Flat World".
- Dr. Sunquist's message was particularly relevant to me because I've been working as a software developer for the past 6 years and specialized in web development. I work with nearly every technology he mentioned on a daily basis.
- My interest in mission stems from my Summer Service trip to Chicago along with my Dad (Don Dawson), sister Rachel and other active family members.
- whodurun4 is my online pseudonym. You can read about it in this post.
- In the interest of full disclosure, I
do have had a web design business (one without paying clients that gives away all of its services). I won't link to it because I'm not sure I'm interested in finding any paying clients.
- My fist trip to NWMC was as a 4 week old child. I slept in a drawer lined with a pillow (it explains a lot).
- I've been at all but 2 conferences since then (technically) making me a 30 year veteran, but I've only been to 25 if you want me to be real and only count the full weeks I've been able to attend.
- Last year was my wife Jill's first full week at New Wilmington Mission Conference and we're both now officially lifers.
