    God's Politics

Has anyone read this Jim Wallis book?  I don't want to get into a political discussion here, but I think the book is an interesting and well written one.  I think the discussion about how the church gets involved in politics is important, especially with what has recently happened in Minneapolis (at a megachurch the founding pastor basically said that while his conservative theological views had not changed, he had become uncomfortable with how closely the evangelical church was aligning itself with the Political right. He had a six week sermon entitled 'the sword or the cross' and at the end of the sermon 1000 of the 5000 members of the congregation had left)  I think this could be an important discussion for the church to have (admittedly this might not be the place, I was really looking to see what other people thought about the book)

I read most of it long enough ago to not remember much specifically (what's that say about my age?).  I recall I thought it was good, but would have to check out my underlining to participate in this conversation.  I'd like to hear what others think, though.

The book is amazing and so is Jim Wallis. If you dont read Sojourner's magazine, you need to. I read about the megachurch in Minnesota and I have to admit that I was relaly excited. I also will admit that I loved what Jim Wallis propsed in his book. I obviously do not agree with everything he wrote and believes, but much of what he wrote is definitley revolutionary and could change the scope of American politics if more people read the book.
