He was a camp counselor at Ligonier Camp, PA, graduated from Point Park College and spent many years using drama to proclaim the Gospel in churches and camps across the country through a ministry called “Crosslight Productions”. He and friend, Jeff Eddings, also created an outreach to elementary schools through the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum- performing plays about conflict resolution, handling peer pressure, and reading.
Now they serve together at the Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community that meets in the Goodwill building on the South Side of Pittsburgh. They use a style of worship that shares the story of God through drama and the arts. The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community seeks to bridge the gap between people and Jesus Christ by helping them experiencing the Kingdom of God. Jim will lead our new drama program which will add bits of exciting drama to each day. If you are interested in helping with this ministry be sure to sign up at Conference.

The purpose of the PFF is to stimulate PCUSA cross-cultural evangelism among the "unreached" peoples of the world who do not have a viable church within their culture and who do not now have a witness of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Through his inspiration and leadership, the PC(USA) has dramatically increased its support in Frontier Missions both in the USA and around the world.
Harold and Polly have traveled extensively internationally and speak widely in churches and mission conferences. The need for a deep, life-transforming faith in Christ, and the world-wide dimensions of that faith, will always be the keynotes of the Kurtz’s ministry. She has a passion for the Gospel – and to see it impact the lives of those in the church. Of particular interest to her is Christian Spirituality and spiritual formation as it applies to leadership development.
As she grows older, she realizes the significance of community in our lives. “We’re intended to live in fellowship – giving & receiving the love of Christ, helping each other grow in our faith - and live out our faith day by day (that’s the hard part)”
