SOcial Options

While each day at NWMC is packed with opportunities to learn, grow, and be challenged, there are also ample opportunities for relaxation and fellowship.  Each afternoon and evening holds free time where optional programs are offered.  In addition to the various Mission Education opportunities, there are also social gatherings available for the various age groups.

Morning Options

CoYo - Conference Yoga ~ Monday - Friday 6:30am-7:30am

Join us in the racquetball court in the Field House to begin your day with in praise and worship that allows us to center our thoughts around the God who gives us breath.  This class is for all levels.  Participants should wear comfortable workout wear and bring their own mat or towel.

This session will be led by Connie Morris, M.Ed., 200RYT, CCYT.  Connie comes from a background in elementary and special education, with a B.A.Ed. in elementary education from the University of Michigan and a M.Ed. in special education with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders from BGSU. She holds an Elementary (K-8) and an Intervention (K-12) License.  She uses yoga in the classroom and with teams, training others to add yoga to their program, including youth groups and therapies. She is presently researching the effects of yoga on behavior.  Connie and Scott have been married for 35 years, have two grown children and 2 grandsons.  

Afternoon Options

The Spot Monday - Thursday, 3:00pm-5:00pm

The Spot offers games, coloring, crafts, sports, and various hang-out activities.  Although all are welcome, The Spot is especially designed to help Middle School, High School, and Young Adult participants have a place to connect.  If you find yourself on your own, stop by the Spot to see who's there.

Monday at the Spot will feature Tie-Dye.  Bring your own t-shirt or purchase one there.  There is a fee associated with this activity.

Evening Options

Sideshow ~  Saturday and Tuesday-Friday: 9:15pm-10:25pm ~ Middle and High School

Sideshow is a fun way to unwind after a long day!  Each evening the Middle School and High School students gather in Berlin Lounge for fun, music, and games.  Make sure to stop by to see what is going on.  (Middle School student will be dismissed 10 minutes before their curfew.  Sideshow will end shortly before the High School curfew.) 

Chill on the Hill ~  Daily: 9:15pm ~ College Aged Young Adults

Chill on the Hill offers a place for Young Adult participants to hang out and connect with fellow students and program leadership.  Located in the lobby of Hillside dorm Chill on the Hill offers a food theme each night.  The Young Adults get to come together over tacos, pancakes, or even a root beer keg! Things get competitive over the board games or pool table, but there’s always lots of laughter and good music. Many of the week’s speakers and missionaries will come to share in the fun.  

College Aged participants are asked to contribute $20.00 towards the cost of Chill on the Hill to be collected in the dorm.

GAP ~ Daily: 9:30pm ~ Young Adults in the Gradual Adult Track

The GAP Social allows time for 20 and 30 somethings who are transitioning from schooling and training programs into professional careers, ministries, and mission calls to spend time together talking about the various life settings in which they find themselves.  The GAP program meets in Berlin Village Townhouse #15.  All are welcome to stop by for fellowship and discussion.  

CUL8R ~  Saturday, Sunday Monday, and Thursday: 9:30pm ~ Adults

See you later at CUL8R!  Located in the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church Social Hall, CUL8R is a chance for adult participants to enjoy each other's company and enjoy some snacks after a long day.  Stop by and get to know some of your fellow Conference attendees.

Pittsburgh Theological Seminary Dessert Social ~ Sunday: 9:15pm

Pittsburgh Theo invites you to join us for exhilarating conversation and delectable refreshments. Are you a PTS alumnus, student, prospective student, a friend, or simply an inquisitive person?  If so, we hope you will join us and take this opportunity to talk to some faculty, staff and students. We will gather in the Orr Auditorium Lobby at 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017.  So plan to cap off your evening with a little desert!
