Preschool Room                Tips for Helping your child Enjoy NWMC

The Preschool Program offered at the New Wilmington Mission Conference seeks to embrace Jesus' command to "go and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Mt. 28: 19, 20). We know that  children are learning to be disciples of Jesus and we pray that they will also be equipped to begin making disciples too.

Preschoolers are invited to the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church from 8:30am until 12:00pm while their parents are attending Bible Hour, Mission Hour, and Morning Meeting. And then they are welcomed back from 6:30pm until9:15pm so that parents can attend Vespers and Evening Meeting and Vespers. We hope that your child will plan to join us for this fun-filled aspect of NWMC!

The Preschool Room

Ages 3 & 4 years
The children in our Preschool Program are given age-appropriate ways to interact with the stories and themes of Scripture. Preschoolers will learn to recite the NWMC theme verse by the end of the week and  offer prayers together. Caregivers teach songs and lead craft projects that the children will then get to share as they go on their first mission trip to the Shenango Presbyterian Residents' Home (adjacent to the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church.) These young conference attendees also enjoy structured playtime each day and are offered a snack. In the evening, children are welcomed with a simple craft and a snack. There is opportunity for play and exploration before settling down for a video presentation.

Tips for helping your preschooler enjoy NWMC

Preschoolers will have a great time at the New Wilmington Mission Conference.

  • Participants have access to the college's indoor swimming pool with no charge, and there is an outdoor pool adjacent to campus that you may access for a small admission fee.
  • The New Wilmington Borough playground is in easy walking-distance from campus.
  • Many children choose to bring bikes or scooters to help with getting from place to place.  The Westminster college is spread out and hilly, which can make for a long walk for little legs!
  • There are no highchairs or booster chairs available from the college dining halls.  Please plan to provide your own if your child needs one.
  • Families stay together in the same dorm room.  You will need to provide a sleeping bag and air-mattress for your preschooler.
  • Families may choose to bring toys and activities to entertain their children during the afternoon free time.  (Balls, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, etc.)
