I was excited to hear the other day that the denominations mission corps is budgeted to increase in size the next couple years. It appears the General Assembly still needs to approve these budgets, but you can read all about it on the PCUSA website.
Hopefully this is a step forward returning towards the rich tradition of Presbyterians in mission.

I've been holding onto some things to mention for a while and still don't have any time to give them due diligence, so here's a quick rundown.
The PGF Outbox has an update from the Ellington family which is serving in Egypt.

The Presbyterian Global Fellowship's Outbox blog highlights a study claiming giving in U.S. churches is hyper-focused on serving those who are giving instead of supporting others and mission. I'm one of the crazy few who love to give to the church and mission organizations, so I'd like to comment on a couple findings.

A mission trip is traveling today to Gulfport, Mississippi. It's a group from PCUSA churches in the Presbytery of New York City and I'm excited because they've started a blog to keep people updated. This is really what I hope our Summer Service Guatemala blog becomes. I hope it will allow the participants to share concerns, ...

I just want to encourage people to take a look at Tim Carriker's thoughts on the changing structure of PCUSA mission. His insider's point of view is helpful and Rob Weingartner offers more suggestions in the comments. Rob also addressed the situation in some conversations at this past year's conference.

I can't really comment on this news, but I just wanted to highlight a couple bits of news related to the changing structure of PCUSA (Presbyterian Church, USA) mission. These articles shed some light on the newly forming structure of mission in the PCUSA and I'll just try to raise awareness by linking to them.
