Helen was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. She is a first-generation Assyrian American. Her parents are immigrants from Iraq. She grew up attending the Assyrian Evangelical United Church of Christ, which she occasionally attends with her family. She later taught Sunday School at the same church where she accepted Christ as a little girl. Helen graduated with a BA in Theater from Columbia College in Chicago. She has attended NWMC since 2000 and was blessed to be on the Summer Service Team to Slovenia in 2004. Growing up in the city (Cubs fan), she’d never think that later in life she’d marry a “country boy,” Branden! Hence, they now reside in Sandwich, Illinois, with little Braylen, where their backyard overlooks a farm! They currently attend Harvest Chapel. Helen enjoys traveling, watching movies, and spending time with her family, a lot of cousins.
