Ramez and Rebecca Atallah

Keynote Speakers

Ramez and Rebecca Atallah have been serving together in Egypt for over 40 years. Ramez was born into a wealthy Christian Egyptian family just after World War II. As the new socialist government took control, he and his family escaped to Canada. Ramez grew up in Montreal and eventually attended McGill University, where he met Rebecca through Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF). As the daughter of mission co-workers, Rebecca grew up in Haiti before moving to Canada for high school and university.

Shortly after getting married, the two moved to Boston, where Ramez attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He then served with IVCF for almost 10 years before the couple returned to Egypt with their two children in 1980. Ramez first served with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students. In 1990, Ramez became the Director of the Bible Society of Egypt, the largest publisher of Arabic Bibles worldwide. He retired as the director in 2021 and has continued actively as their Senior Advisor since then. Rebecca has run various Christian education programs in Cairo, both for Egyptian natives and Sudanese refugees. In 2010, she had a key role in establishing the Center of Love, one of Cairo's largest and best-equipped centers for children with special needs.
