Rebecca and John de Jong are educators at Laidlaw College in Auckland, New Zealand. Rebecca holds the position of Professional Teaching Fellow, where she is responsible for preparing students for service in the mission field. She possesses a Bachelor of Theology (BTh) from Laidlaw College and a Master of Arts (MA) in Missiology from All Nations Christian College (UK). In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Rebecca is a member of the governing board of Global Connections in Mission (GC3), serves on the council of Missions Interlink (New Zealand), and functions as a regional book review assistant for the journal "Mission Studies: Journal for the International Association for Mission Studies."
John serves as the Postgraduate Lead at Laidlaw College and specializes in teaching Old Testament studies and Biblical interpretation. John has also served four years as pastor at Lincoln Road Bible Chapel, and held the position of head of Biblical Studies at the Myanmar Evangelical Graduate School of Theology, where he taught Biblical Hebrew and Old Testament. John earned his Master of Theological Studies from Tyndale Graduate School of Theology in 2004. He completed his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) through a collaborative program between Laidlaw College and Auckland University of Technology.
Rebecca and John de Jong served as missionaries in Myanmar with their family for twelve years.
